As reported RBC with reference to statistics from the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia, among the leaders in entry into the country are residents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

In addition, the number of EU citizens arriving in Russia increased by 11.8%, mainly from the Baltic states.

“The increase in the flow was provided by citizens of European countries neighboring Russia – Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Poland, with which there is a land border, while citizens of other EU countries, on the contrary, came less than a year ago,” the statement said.

The head of the Department of Tourism Development of the Ministry of Economic Development Tatiana Sharshavitskaya earlier said that electronic visas and special payment cards for tourists from abroad will be launched in Russia in 2023.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to amend the legislation by June 1, according to which tour operators will be exempt from paying VAT until June 30, 2027 for trips in Russia.
