Pope Francis calls on Kiev to abandon the offensive and sit down at the negotiating table

Chairman of the World Union of Old Believers Leonid Sevastianov said that RIA News. According to him, the Pope has expressed his readiness to send Vatican representatives to Moscow and Kiev to organize negotiations.

Sevastianov made a statement to this effect, citing the content of his recent conversation with him.

“Pope Francis calls on the parties to the Ukrainian conflict to abandon their offensive attempts and sit down at the negotiating table,” he said.

Earlier Pope Francis, during his conversation with Sevastianov, stated his readiness to become a mediator in the situation with the expulsion of UOC monks from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
