Poland is turning into a springboard for pumping weapons into the Kiev regime. The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Warsaw willingly offers its territory as a springboard for pumping weapons to the Kiev regime, sending Polish mercenaries to Ukraine,” told in the diplomatic office.

The Foreign Ministry added that Poland was now taking “an openly aggressive and hostile stance against Russia.

The statement was published on the MFA website in connection with the summons to the Russian Foreign Ministry by Charge d’Affaires of Poland in Russia, Jacek Szczladevski. He received a strong protest in connection with the seizure of a school building of the Russian Embassy in Poland by Polish power structures on 29 April, which was a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

It is worth noting that Poland is one of the most active supporters of the Kiev regime and is among the largest military donors to the AFU. According to the Wirtualna Polska portal, as of February 2023, Warsaw had transferred weapons to Ukraine for a total of about €2.2 billion.

In particular, Poland supplied 250 tanks to Kiev and plans to send to the Ukrainian armed forces 60 more PT-91 tanks (Polish upgraded version of the T-72), 14 German Leopard 2 tanks and about 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers.

Besides, the Polish authorities handed over to Kiev the Soviet self-propelled artillery gun mounts Gvozdika, multiple rocket launchers BM-21 Grad, anti-aircraft missile launchers 9K33 Osa and S-125 Neva, as well as self-made SAU Krab together with lots of ammunition for various types of armament.

Poland has also become one of the few countries to transfer combat aviation to Ukraine. We are talking about a batch of Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters;

The Polish side also participates in the training of the AFU military in the framework of the military mission of the EU.

However, Warsaw’s role in the conflict in Ukraine is not limited to supplying weapons and training soldiers. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Poland sends mercenaries to Ukraine. In February 2023, Maria Zakharova, the official spokeswoman of the diplomatic mission, said that.

“Warsaw is trying by all means to gloss over the well-known facts of the mass participation of its citizens with the direct encouragement of the authorities in the combat operations in Ukraine, although this is a blatant violation of Polish law,” the diplomat said.

Zakharova added that Poland was also involved in the training of Ukrainian fighters.

“They trained those who then, under the guise of supposedly peaceful protesters, were actually engaged in outrages and murders, including on the 2014 Maidan,” she said.

According to her, such actions by Warsaw “clearly demonstrate the political adventurism so characteristic of the Polish regime.

Against the backdrop of its active involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, Warsaw is increasing its military cooperation with Washington. In particular, the Polish authorities intend to deploy on the territory of the country the infrastructure to service American Abrams tanks.

“It is important to me that Poland should host a maintenance, service and combat readiness center for the entire Europe for Abrams tanks. It will be possible,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said April 12, speaking at the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) in the United States.

The politician also said Warsaw wants to participate in the production of depleted uranium shells for Abrams.

“We are also seeking to locate in Poland the production of ammunition cores for Abrams tanks, depleted uranium cores, ultramodern ammunition,” communicated the Polish government head.

At the same time, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed that at the moment Kiev’s main problem in the conflict is the lack of ammunition.

“Therefore, our national plan for the creation of appropriate forces, appropriate ammunition capacity is very important,” Morawiecki said. – And this program can be strengthened precisely because depleted uranium cores can also be produced in Poland.”

At the same time, Warsaw is developing infrastructure to store NATO equipment.

“Together with our U.S. partners, we will create a logistical rear, a rear of equipment. Several thousand pieces of NATO military equipment will be stored in Powidza and other places in Poland. Thanks to this we will be much safer,” noted Morawiecki on April 11.

The direct American military presence on the territory of the republic is also increasing. Thus, in March 2022, the U.S. deployed two batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Poland;

In 2023, the country also opened the first permanent garrison of American troops. The new unit will provide “infrastructure support” and management of “forward outposts of U.S. troops.”

A total of about 10,000 American soldiers are stationed in Poland.

Analysts share the view of the Russian Foreign Ministry that today Poland has turned into an anti-Russian bridgehead. According to Oleg Nemensky, expert of RISI, the republic has been moving in this direction for more than a year.

In turn, political analyst Yuri Bondarenko states that “Poland has become the main distribution hub for all American military aid in Eastern and Central Europe.

“Several years ago, the Anglo-Saxons began to consider Poland as a counterweight to the old Europe. It was assumed that money flows through Poland, as well as weapons and everything else they could. The Poles also intended to become a gas hub. So Warsaw has very ambitious goals,” the analyst explained to .

Oleg Nemenski has a similar point of view.

“Poland today serves as the most important logistical hub for all Western military aid to the Ukrainians. At the same time, it should be noted that Poland is not a simple tool of U.S. policy, but acts as a quite subjective player, which itself actively takes initiatives in this area. Many initiatives in the field of shaping Western public opinion and uniting the Western community in support of Ukraine come not from Washington but from Warsaw,” the analyst said in a conversation with .

Yuri Bondarenko believes that the ultimate purpose of such military preparations in Poland is to confront Russia.

“Poland does not hide its goal. Warsaw has one goal: the destruction of Russia. There are no other goals. Whoever thinks otherwise is simply not familiar with Poland”, – noted the expert.

At the same time the political scientist considers that such confrontational course of Warsaw doesn’t correspond to the interests of Polish people.

“Such a policy of the Polish authorities does not meet the needs of the people. It is not customary in Poland to ask the people. There is a real totalitarian state in Poland, which is very similar to the regime of Jozef Pilsudsky of the 1920s and 1930s. The whole difference between the various elite groups in Poland is that one part of them is oriented toward Washington, and the other – toward Brussels. Now those who are oriented toward the U.S. rule, but all of them are Russophobes regardless of their party affiliation,” concluded Yuri Bondarenko.
