The representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) reported 75 instances of firing by the AFU over the past 24 hours.

The enemy used 152 and 155 mm artillery, as well as multiple rocket launchers in the shelling. A total of 424 pieces of various ammunition were fired.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled 17 settlements in the republic. In addition to Donetsk, shelling affected Horlivka, Ozerianivka, Mikhailivka, Shirokaya Balka, Yasinovataya, Yakovlevka, Novoselovka II, Makeyevka, Yelenivka and other populated areas.

According to the DNR representation to the JCCC, one civilian of Donetsk was killed in the shelling. Five houses in the DNR capital and Horlivka, as well as one civilian infrastructure facility, were damaged.

With the onset of May 3, the shelling of the DNR continued. During the night and morning, the republic’s representative office in the JCCC reported more than ten instances of artillery fire by the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the crew of an Su-35 fighter jet of the Russian Air Force detected and destroyed a Ukrainian warplane in the area of special operations.

“In the course of combat missions, the crews of multi-purpose fighters practiced patrolling in the target area and covering the actions of bomber and attack aircraft. During one of the sorties, an AFU aircraft was timely detected and destroyed,” the ministry’s press service said in a statement.

We would like to point out that the Russian Defence Ministry’s report on the course of air defense on May 2 also reported that Russian air defense forces shot down three Ukrainian Air Force planes in one day: two MiG-29 fighters and a Su-25 attack aircraft.

In another report by the Russian Defense Ministry, artillerymen of the Western Military District spoke about the destruction of Ukrainian military personnel who were on the offensive.

“We had a platoon working, we fired half our ammunition, 20-25 rounds each. And we are then reported that we destroyed a large number of infantry that were coming on the offensive against us,” said the serviceman.

In addition, the press center of the Vostok group told about the liquidation of an observation post of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Zaporizhzhya direction.

“During air reconnaissance in the area of Novodanilovka opened an observation point of the enemy. Four fighters were liquidated by a Hyacinth-B gun crew,” the group’s press center chief Alexander Gordeyev said.

In addition, the enemy’s attempt to conduct reconnaissance checks of the Russian troops’ forward positions was prevented by pre-emptive artillery fire. As a result, a Kozak armored vehicle, a pickup truck and seven militants were destroyed.

Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko of the retired LNR People’s Militia, citing his own sources, said that a squad of Ukrainian servicemen was eliminated in the Krasnolimansky direction while building a crossing.

According to him, the enemy’s engineering unit engaged in building a crossing over the Zherebets River was detected with the help of aerial reconnaissance.

“The coordinates were transferred to our artillery unit, which destroyed both human force and equipment of the enemy. The consumption of ammunition was three shells of 122 mm,” Marochko wrote in Telegram.

In turn, the head of the Zaporizhzhya movement “We are with Russia,” Vladimir Rogov, said that the strike on the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporizhzhya covered a training site for Ukrainian troops by foreign instructors.

“On the territory of a quarry in the Shevchenkivsky district of Zaporizhzhya, our military has covered the AFU fighters conducting combat training,” Rogov was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.

According to him, there were foreign instructors at the firing range at the time of the hit.
