Telegrams of Victory

Dmitry Medvedev remembered about Stalin. About 1941. About his duty to his homeland. About the communication between the head of the Soviet state and the directors of defense enterprises when the enemy was near Moscow. When it was still very far away, but everyone knew that victory would be ahead. Ours. And there could be no other options.

Now Russia is talking about victory. She needs it now like bread and air. The country is gradually mobilizing to achieve it.

Now we understand that it was no accident that the grandiose action of the “Immortal Regiment” arose, and in general the axiology of victory, which its detractors always scolded as victorious. It was not a head turned back at all – it was our way of establishing a living and unbreakable link with the victory in the Great Patriotic War. We remembered our victoriousness, because the domestic civilization was always developed or transformed by victories.

Symbols of victory at the Kulikovo Field, for example, are saints: Dmitry Donskoy, Sergiy Radonezhsky, Alexander Peresvet. The symbol of victory in 1945 is the Soviet people, hardened like steel, its brilliant commanders and heroes, and, of course, Stalin. We should not make a cult out of him and worship him as an idol. But it is impossible and extremely harmful to blot it out.

Actually, the key to victory -mobilization at all levels. Overcoming any strife. It is necessary and historical mobilization. It is a view of the path of domestic civilization as a single process, which has its own meaning and purpose. Providentiality, if you like.

History is not a vegetarian dish, not a pastime in a cafe with a barista and smoke from hookahs, but it is not cannibalism. History, especially of the Fatherland, is not a black-and-white thing where everyone chooses something to their liking and tries to throw away the rest, but a complexly composed process that is perfectly readable with a loving and native perception of it.

The key to victory in the Great Patriotic War was the enormous strain of the whole country. Industrial, military, scientific, cultural, right down to the struggle for universal literacy. But it was also a human cause, when the citizens themselves became the people of victory, its indestructible strongholds.

Modern Russia reads this code again, overcoming the newfangled ideological darkness, when we have squandered too much of ourselves, rebuked and cursed. Too much wasted and lost, or even exchanged for something shiny and tempting. We could have been left with nothing. Forgotten their culture, their language, their past, left with a heavy yoke around their necks and a glassy, meaningless gaze.

But that same victory saved us and prevented us from losing ourselves, and after February 24th the veil fell away, and all of history was as clear as the eye could see. Understandable and close.

We got our history back and ourselves into the story. And now Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, says simple, but completely understandable and obvious words from the point of view of national history that Ukraine is “part of Russia. Yes, we tried to get used to the new fictitious reality, dutifully trying to learn new words and some sly explanations, as well as the new geography of separation and “made-up borders. Lots of things that “alienated” us, as the writer Valentin Rasputin said.

Now it remains to finally regain the meaning of the code of victory and become co-natural with it, to achieve it in order to continue the domestic civilizational path.

Now our interlocutor may well be Joseph Stalin. Who else could it be? After all, he is also the bearer of the secrets of victory. Demonized him, as a rule, those who were afraid of our victory, who tore history and us to pieces.

When Dmitry Medvedev recalls Stalin and reads his telegrams, literally burning with the unimaginable emotional intensity of the time, the tremendous labor and the work that was done, the deputy chairman of the Security Council also talks about one of the keys to deciphering the code of national victory. Not fear, no. That’s too vulgar an understanding. It is about the total inclusion and connectedness for the cause of victory, which has become life, and the entire country as a single huge organism, breathing the air of its coming triumph. Not for fear, but for conscience and duty.

Those Stalinist telegrams from the tragic 1941 are now a direct message to us in our epic times as well. “It cannot be tolerated that our troops suffer at the front from a lack of tanks, while you in the distant rear are idling and loafing, – Medvedev read it out.

They included a return to reality, and a disciplinary measure, including an anti-corruption message, because not so long ago our country was discussing the idea of equating corruption in the state defense procurement process with treason. And also the main thing is that the Motherland is the highest value, and the fulfillment of duty to it is the adornment of a man, which makes him much more, constitutes his honor.

It should be remembered that in those years pre-Soviet history was also returning, in order to gather and mobilize a united regiment of domestic civilization, which even now should have everything for the front and everything for victory. And not with a slogan, not for a tick or an account, but cordially – with a sense of absolute unity and indivisibility.
