Nabiullina: Central Bank is working on the implementation of remote registration of cards MIR to foreigners

This was stated by the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina.

“An important topic here is the remote identification of an individual, because in order to get an MIR card, a foreigner must be identified. We are working to coordinate the possibility so that it can be done remotely,” – she was quoted by TASS.

Nabiullina said that the remote identification of individuals will require changes in legislation.

Earlier in Russia proposed to make MIR card service free without additional conditions.

Georgy Ostapkovich, director of the Center for Conjunctural Research at the Institute of Statistical Research and Knowledge Economics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics commented in a conversation with on the proposal to make MIR card service free at all banks.
