“The introduction of new holidays and non-working days traditionally attracts particular attention of the population of the country. Such proposals appear with enviable regularity,” says the lawyer.

According to him, Russia is a multi-confessional country in which “the rights of all believers are equally respected.

“The introduction of a day off after Holy Christ’s Resurrection could be the occasion for similar requests from Muslims, Buddhists, Jews and representatives of other religions. And such requests will have to be fulfilled or reasons for refusal will have to be explained,” Solovyov added.

Earlier, the Duma proposed making the Monday after Easter a holiday.
