Fellbermayr emphasized that there are still many sectors that can put a lot of pressure on Russia.

“I mean, for example, the pharmaceutical industry. One could certainly argue, on humanitarian grounds, that such an exemption for medical devices is right,” he said.

At the same time, political pressure on Moscow would be more effective if Russians lacked basic necessities, he believes. The economist’s words reported by RIA Novosti.

Earlier Roszdravnadzor, commenting on media reports about the alleged shortage of a number of drugs in the country, including Mesalazine and Osteogenon, said that there is no shortage of drugs in Russia by international non-proprietary names.
