Bloomberg: Russia may resume buying foreign currency for its reserves in May

“With energy revenues now close to exceeding the target level, purchases are possible as early as May,” said in the piece.

According to the agency’s estimates, the initial volumes could be the equivalent of about $200 million in yuan per month.

It is noted that such action will emphasize the ability of Russia to maintain the inflow of petrodollars against the background of sanctions.

At the beginning of February it was reported that Russia at the end of 2022 was the fourth largest foreign exchange reserves in the world.
